Fautori di un noise-rock ispido e dissacrante, i tre sono già in gran spolvero nei primissimi secondi di "Natrix Maura", uno sludge fragoroso infiorettato da ghirigori elettronici. Si riconoscono, immediatamente, i punti di forza della formazione: una voce istrionica, un interplay dinamico ed espressivo e un gioco di vuoti e di pieni già piuttosto calibrato.
Sia che lavorino, dunque, con le trame intricate e paranoiche di "Onania", con le dissertazioni psicopatiche di "Albinos de la mente" e di "Prisciliano" o con quelle più oscure e angosciose di "La destrucción del aura", i Nostri riescono sempre a guadagnare qualche punto a loro favore, anche se, nel complesso, "Esfínteres y Faquires" non è ancora un disco veramente compiuto. Things groove, shake, and undulate into multiple variations of the same hideous theme, before zipping off into random splashes of jazz, drone, funk, power electronics, and Am-Rep noise-rock. There’s creativity to spare on this record, and each musician should be praised for harnessing it into something that’s delightfully oblique but superbly coherent. For all of the bands that fail to be so bold, brave, and successful working with this schizophrenic style, BL make every scraping movement and scalding noise spire flow in unison. (Hellride Music)
